Botanical Bug Spray 8oz

You will find other all-natural bug repellents on the market, but many of them contain essential oils that are not recommended for use on children under age 10, such as clove bud oil, peppermint, wintergreen, rosemary and others. 

I formulated this bug spray because I was concerned about the effects of DEET based products and the potential impact on myself and my family.  I developed this spray using over 24 research studies, and selected the essential oils that have been shown to have repellent effects against ticks, mosquitoes and biting flies. 

How to Use Repellents Safely
All repellents can cause side effects, especially if you apply too much of it or too often. For example, they can all cause rashes and skin irritation. In addition, deet might cause disorientation, particularly in concentrations higher than 30 percent deet.

Use all insect repellents with care.

Here's how:

Apply just enough to cover exposed skin, and only for as long as needed.
Don’t use it on wounds, cuts, or broken or irritated skin.
Never put it on under your clothes.
For your face, spray it on your palms first, then rub it in, avoiding your eyes and mouth, and using sparingly around ears.
Adults should put it on children, since children often put their hands in their eyes and mouths.
Don’t use near food, and wash hands after application and before eating or drinking.
At the end of the day, wash treated skin with soap and water, and wash treated clothing in a separate wash before wearing again.
Wash repellent off your skin and launder treated clothes.

Uses: To repel mosquitoes, biting flies, and ticks.

Warnings: For External Use Only.  Avoid spraying in eyes. Do not apply directly to skin on children under 2 years of age. Discontinue use if skin becomes irritated.  Consult a physician if nursing or pregnant.  Not for use on dogs or cats.   Directions: Apply to areas commonly exposed to biting insects, such as behind ears, back of knees, and ankles.  For best results, reapply every 2-3 hours. Hazel Moon Botanicals represents that this product qualifies for exemption from registration with the EPA under FIFRA 25b.

Active Ingredients: Geranium oil 1%, Citronella oil 1%, Cedarwood oil 1%, Spearmint oil 1%, Lemongrass oil 0.6%.  Other Ingredients 95.4%: Organic Witch Hazel, Isopropyl Alcohol, Essential Oil blend [Lemon eucalyptus oil, Lavender oil, Alaskan cypress oil].
