Who we are - Hazel Moon Botanicals

Hazel Moon Botanicals is a woman-owned company based at 48 Main Street, Suite C in Meredith, New Hampshire right on Lake Winnipesaukee. We are a micro- but mighty- business. Marie Frehulfer-Davis, Aromatherapist is our founder and sole employee.

The seed that created Hazel Moon Botanicals was planted in 2012 and grew from the idea that nourishment comes in many forms: from our environment and the things we put ON our bodies; from the foods we eat and put IN our bodies; and from the things that we surround ourselves with that affect our mood and spirit.

Our products are handcrafted in small batches using natural and organic ingredients and essential oils, with a focus on creating blends and dilution ratios safe for the whole family. We share information about, and advocate for the safe use of essential oils. Because of the small batch and handcrafted nature of our products, we have the unique ability to customize most of our products to your preferences and allergy needs.

Marie started making a moisturizing balm for her daughter Hazel (then 18-months old) in 2012, after trying everything to help soothe her persistent eczema and diaper rash. And so “Mama’s Magical Lotion” was born.

Over the next 4 years Marie would go on to make other natural skin-care and home products for her family. In 2016 she created what has become our most popular product: our essential oil based Botanical Bug Spray. Developed out of necessity after her son Silas developed a chemical burn to a popular DEET-based bug spray, Marie formulated our botanical Bug Spray based on dozens of research studies. It needed to be effective against ticks, mosquitoes and biting flies. It also needed to follow guidelines for safe essential oil use, and EPA minimum risk insect repellent guidelines.

About our founder:
Marie earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. VFRGFNBQPDQM Marie has a passion for developing her formulas using evidence-based research, to ensure that her products are both effective and safe. Marie has earned credentials as a Level 1 and Level 2 Certified Professional Aromatherapist.
